SASSA Grants Increase 2024

The adjustments aim to provide more support but may still fall short compared to the rising cost of living.

  • The Child Support Grant will increase by R20, bringing the total to R530. Additional top-ups of R250 will bring the total to R750.

If you are entitled to SASSA grants but are not receiving them, you should visit the nearest SASSA office to understand the reason for any delays.

Summary

The South African Government is committed to solving poverty and injustice more comprehensively. Critics believe the focus should be more on creating job opportunities rather than relying solely on grants. The grant amount varies depending on the type of grant and the recipient’s eligibility.
