Who Is Eligible?

  • Pension Credit
  • Universal Credit

Eligibility Periods

  • £301 Payment: Received benefits between 26th January and 25th February 2023.
  • £300 and £299 Payments: Exact dates to be announced. You are eligible for these payments if you received benefits between 26th January and 25th February 2023.

Who Isn’t Eligible?

You may not be eligible if your benefits were reduced to £0 during the qualifying period, known as a ‘nil award’. This could happen due to:

  • Multiple payments of earnings during your Universal Credit assessment period
  • Increased earnings or savings
  • Receiving another benefit
  • Being ‘sanctioned’ for not meeting claimant commitments

Exceptions

You may still be eligible if:

  • Money was deducted for other reasons, such as paying back debts or rent
  • You received a hardship payment (a loan if your Universal Credit was cut short due to a sanction or penalty)

Payment Dates

  • £301 Payment: Between 25th April and 17th May 2023 (DWP benefits) or between 2nd and 9th May 2023 (tax credits and no other low-income benefits)
  • £300 Payment: Autumn 2023
  • £299 Payment: Spring 2024
